Concentration Gradient
The difference in concentration that exists between a region of high concentration and a region of low concentration is called the concentration gradient.
Diffusion
Diffusion is the movement of a substance down a concentration gradient from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration. Diffusion does not require energy so it is a passive form of transport. E.g a sugar cube in cup of tea.
