        This was Kaiser Wilhelm II's foreign policy, and the reasons for it, while unknown, are probably to strengthen german and weaken the appeal of socialism at home. There were 3 main goals the Kaiser wanted to achieve with Weltpolitik, but instead of them, it ended up souring international relations and made foreign nations worry about Germany and their intentions, which caused increased militarism, which is one of the causes of WW1
        
        The policy created a great deal of tension, accomplished very little, and soured international relations. The policy had challenged everybody but did not weaken anybody. The major consequence is that it had an impact on European diplomatic alignments.
        
        Kicking out Bismark has led Wilhelm ll to take the main role in germany. His plicies were taken away and Weltpolitik was introduced. Therefore, all the European countries started to feel even more threatened.
        
        Bismark's Departure was in 1890, it was when Wilhelm ll forced him to sign his resignment because he thought Bismark's Views were old and not modern enough. That is where Wilhelm wanted to start the "new course."
        
        Imperialism in the 1880- 1914 was when the governments of Britain, France, Germany, Italy, and Belgians all wanted to parition of Africa. Europe took most of African territory, so all the other countries took part of Asian territory. Europeans saw this imperialism as a battle for wealth, power, growth and survival.
        
        Overall, the new imperialism caused a lot of tension. The craving of great powers in weaker states, especially inn eastern Europe created an atmosphere of enmity. Imeprialism lead to rivalries between many European powers. For example, Anglo-Russian relations reached to point of war over the interest of Persia, Afghanistan and China. This emphasized the need for new policies and solutions to problems in international relations.
        
        Bismark's Alliances had placed Germany in such a strong diplomatic position. He created the alliances to create options in an event of any International crisis. However, the alliances did create suspicions in Austria Hungary, Russia, and Italy. This influenced the Bulgarian crisis evne more which complicated the Balkan Crisis.
        
        Bismarck created the foreign policy so he can create alliances. He created multiple alliances. He created dual alliance in 1879, which was an alliance between Germany and Austria-Hungary. Then he created a Triple alliance by adding Italy in 1882. After he created a secret alliance with Russia to give Germany maximum flexibility and number of diplomatic options.He had Russia sign a Re-insurance treaty which pledged nueatrality in the event of Russian attack Austria Hungary and German nueatrality on German attack on France.
        
        The Bulgarian Crisis led to problems in the Balkans as many nationalists wanted to be free from the rule of the Ottoman Empire. This contributed to the escalation of World War I occurring because Russia and Austria-Hungary wanted an influence in the Balkans, and the Bulgarian Crisis led to tensions between them increasing as well.
        
        The Bulgarian Crisis was when in 1876, Bulgarian rebellion was in full scale. They received support from Serbia, Montenegro, and Russia. This led to war between Russia and Turkey as well in 1877-1878 over Bulgaria, which the Ottoman Empire lost. Bulgaria was given virtual independence.
      - The Franco-Prussian war was when the German states of the Northern Confederation went to war against France because of the conflicts between France and Prussia. Bismarck set it up so that war would be declared, so that there would be a sense of nationalism throughout the Germanic states to unify them all. Prussia won the war, so this unified them.
      - The Franco-Prussian war helped Prussia take control of all of Germany and unite it as one. There was German unification from that point forward, and Prussia was not a separate kingdom anymore. This contributes to the cause of World War I, because this escalated tensions in the rest of Europe. They were worried about Germany's power and its influence. This event helped German unification, which further leads to other events that contribute to World War I occurring.
