Water-Based paints
Applied with a brush, roller or spray. Knots should be treated with knotting solution to prevent it oozing out
Provides protection and colour. And are more aesthetically pleasing, tougher and resistant to moisture

Stains
Available in many different colours and types. Apply it like W-b paint and surface should be grease free before applying.

Danish oil
Available in clear and colour tints. Apply with link-free cloth and rub it onto the surface. Leave it for 5 min and then rub excess oil away. Lightly sand to open up the grain between coats
Maintains the appearance and enhances grain. A regular application can build up a water resistant finish.

Pressure Treating
Wood is placed in a pressure vessel containing a solution consisting of copper sulphate and other salts. Vacuum and pressure are controlled to force the preservative deep in to fibres and then the wood is steam dried
Protection up to 50y from rot, insect and fungal attack and weathering. Used in bridge construction and decking
