Tune of The Haunted
Phantom of The Opera Plot Adaptation
A curious Soprano gets trapped in a bewitched and haunted Opera House under the control of a deadly phantom.
Genre
Fantasy Horror
Inspiration: All of Tim Burton's work, especially Coraline
Inspiration: Leaning more towards the Horror aspect, want to capture a feel similar to American Horror Story without the Erotica aspect since I want to stray away from romance
-
Characters
Isobel: The main protagonist of the story:
- Curious
- Incredibly Smart
- Brains over Heart, Facts over Feelings
- Attempts to outwit the Phantom in order to escape the
- Doesn't believe in the supernatural until she is confronted with it so at first the experience in the Opera House is very overwhelming
- Think Violet Bauldelaire maybe a little Sherlock Holmes
The Phantom: The main antagonist of the story
- Psychopathic and deadly
- Strong, a very powerful and destructive character
- Telekinetic Abilities
- Easily obsessive
- Despite having a house filled with trapped souls it's obvious that he's a very lonely character
- Prodigal Instrumentalist
- God Syndrome
- Very Charismatic but can suddenly become enraged and violent
- Think HH Holmes (instead of a murder hotel, a murder opera house?), Ted Bundy, Norman Bates
Entrapped Soul: Ghost 3
- Trickster Character
- Erratic, Impulsive, Angry, Brash
- Think Joaquin Phoenix's depiction of the Joker
-
Entrapped Soul: Ghost 1
- Sociopath
- Meticulous, cold, unfeeling, scientific
- An Evil Scientist of Sorts - but a deadly one, think Dr. Victor Van Frankenstein or Oliver Thredson, Hannibal Lecter
Entrapped Soul: Ghost 2
- Scorned Lover
- Sad, Bitter, Jealous
- Obsessed with the Phantom, A bit of a Bellatrix Lestrange character (Phantom is like Voldemort)
Music
Akin to the title "Tune of the Haunted", each of the rooms within the Opera House is themed around a specific character and the Phantom's specific experience with them before they were trapped in the Opera House.
Thus each room/character also has a specific Tune or Song/Melody, thus the "Tunes of the Haunted".
