Eckles boasts that he has hunted many animals.
"Eckles balanced on the narrow Path, aimed his rifle playfully."(Bradbury,1127)
Eckles shows off that he can aim the rifle.
Arrogant
"'It cant be killed.' Eckels pronounced this verdict quietly, as if if there could be no argument."(Bradbury, 1127)
Without asking anyone, Eckels insists the dinosaur can't be killed, the dinosaur is later killed.
"Eckles flushed. 'Where is our Tyrannosaurus?'"(Bradbury,1127)
Eckles is mad that Travis tells him to stop so he asks where is our Tyrannosaurus to cut him off.
overestimates himself
"'Stop that!' said Travis. 'Don't even aim for fun, blast you! If your gun should go off-'" (Bradbury 1127)
This shows that he overestimates because by aiming his gun for fun he believes in himself enough that the gun wont accidentally shoot
"'I didn't realize it would be this big' said Eckles. 'I miscalculated, that's all. And now I want out.'"
This shows that Eckles over estimates himself because he thought the Tyrannosauruses Rex would be smaller and was confident with that.
nervous
Eckels moaned. He dropped to his knees. He scrabbled at the golden butterfly with shaking fingers.(Bradbury 1131)
This shows that Eckles was nervous because he knew that he had just messed up his world by stepping on the golden butterfly.
"The rifle in his hands seemed to cap gun. 'We are fools to come. This is impossible'" (Bradbury 1127-1128)
This shows that Eckles was nervous because saying it is impossible he is nervous on how they will escape from the Tyrannosaurs Rex.
