Emily Brontë

the fifth of six children

Her mother passed away from cancer

in their spare time four of the six children often indulged in writing fiction inspired by a box of toy

She was 13 when she and Anne decided to break away from the storyline and created their own world Gondol

Charlotte Brontë

She was born on the 30th of July 1818 in West Yorkshire

She was born in 1816

In 1831 she became a pupil at the school of Roe Head where she returned as a governess in 1835

In 1839 opened her own school with Emily

she used a pen name to hide her real gender and identity, also to explore the issues of classist data in Victorian society

Her novel (JANE EYRE) had an immediate success and many people have tried to bring the characters to life through film.

Jane goes on a journey of personal discovery and overcomes adversity to find happiness and self respect.

There are many Gothic elements in Jane Eyre.

the novel has inspired countless authors and filmmakers.

He was born on the 7th February 1812

He was a socially committed writer and radical philanthropist

In 1846 she finished writing a novel called Wuthering Heights which was accepted by the publisher Thomas Newby and published the following year

when she turned six she joined her elder sisters Elizabeth Maria and Charlotte at Coen Bridge school in Lancashire but she didn't stay for long as the conditions at the school were very poor

Due to the local water being
contaminated by runoff from the church’s graveyard, Bramwell, her brother died very suddenly in 1848 and a week later at his funeral Emily caught a severe cold which quickly developed into super Colossus. She refused to see a doctor and she grew steadily weaker until the 19th of September when she could barely speak. She died at age 30.

In some of his works he gives a description of the situation of many cities during the Industrial revolution.
With the passage “Coketown” he says that due to the factories, the pollution levels became higher which led to a large number of health risks for the workers. The ill-smelling river and the presence of smoke and smog are signs that highlight the huge amount of pollution present in the town.
