        One of her cousins, St. John, calls her to go to work for him and then he proposes. Jane refuses but she decides to go anyway with him, in India. One day she hears a mesmeric call from Rochester, she retourns to Thornfield and sees that the entire house was burned, Rochester's wife was dead and he was blinded. Eventually Jane and Rochester marry.
