Surgical procedures
Keyhole surgery - a surgical method used to access the interior of the body through a small incision. It creates an open surgery
- examples of Keyhole surgery include gallbladder surgery and hernia surgery
Laparoscopic surgery
The surgical procedure is performed by a surgeon who inserts a tube into an artery in the groin or wrist. They then thread the tube towards the affected artery around the heart. Finally, they insert a balloon or stent (metal tube) to open the artery.
Advantages:
- Health of patient returns
- development of raw materials
Disadvantages:
- risk of infection
- procedures can be costly
