have major struggles with body image and begin to talk down on themselves because of it

many people find themselves staring at themselves in the mirror and wishing they were skinnier or bigger when in reality they are just imagining themselves in a negative way and that's not how they actually look in real life.
anorexia
begin to have eating disorders because they compare themselves to others and believe they should look like them
seeing girls on instagram and snapchat after editing or filters, people don't realize that what people look like on social media isn't what they always look like in real life.
depression / anxiety
begin to experience symptoms of depression and anxiety because they feel they are not good enough, and then gain anxiety because they feel they need to change.
get anxiety about not getting enough likes or what others may think.
get depression because they don't feel good enough and compare themselves to others
after constantly putting yourself down and thinking your not good enough depression appears.
addiction
people become addicted to it even thought they know its bad for them, but they continue to use it anyways
always feel the need to look at your phone
people also blame social media platforms for putting certain ads or making sure you see your certain interests so you stay hooked and keep you using their app.
people are afraid of being left out, so having a phone with them at all times makes them feel connected
positives
good for expressing yourself
many people feel they can express themselves because they are able to hide behind a scree and it feels more safe then doing it in person.
emotional support
people support other people in their choices and show them love, make people feel wanted
community building
with social media its easier to connect and many people can make online petitions and groups of people with the same interests.

american eagle: is size inclusive and has models of all sizes and ethnicities.
victoria secret: many scandals about how tiny their models are and how there sizes aren't very inclusive
aeropostle is known for their tiny sizes and their sizes not being accurate. I have noticed that their larges fit more like mediums and they don't have a very wide range of sizes.
