Definition: The inevitable fact that people are starting to prefer to live in large cities where everything is available to them. Especially attractive idea for young people.
Megacities: cities with population of more than 10 million people. Very large and very crowded, for example New York City.
Primate City: a city that has a population at least 2 times bigger than the second largest city. Those cities might become the economical and political center for their countries' government, making the government focuss only on them. Example would be Mexico city
Rural areas: countrysides, small towns, villages. Basically places that aren't considered cities, where there is more of a local supplier of goods.
Urban areas: rapidly growing cities, where there are lots of services nearby. Businesses, government, and a lot of roads can be found in a city.
Push factors: these are the reasons people want to move to cities because rural areas don't allow them to grow as much as in the urban. They usually can't get great education in rural places. Also everything is far away, and that includes people's friends.
Pull factors: these are reasons why cities appeal to the youth. Basically, whatever isn't in rural ares will be in urban. The busy life of a city, the clubs, the are very ppealing to young people. In the cities they have more chances to grow, and have their societal needs fullfiled.
Suburban areas: those are places for the many classes that work in the city to live. Suburban areas usually develop around cities, in case of Boulder, it was developed along transportation axes.
Infrasctructure: everything that is being built. Roads, schools, hospitals, business' buildings. Infrastructure is more devolped and more focused in cities where more people live.
Brain drain: When younger more ambitious and physically competent peopl decide to move to cities leaving elderly and their previous jobs behind.
Gentrification: when a government spends money to renovate a certain district in a city. The purpose is to make it richer, and more open for businesses.

Favelas: Districts in Rio de Janeiro where there is no government infrastructure, and very little government inteverntion. People are left to build their own houses, become artists and get creatve. However no government help means gangs can get out of control.

Definition: migration is when a group or a single person moves to another place in his country or in the world so that they can make their live better
UNHRC: an organization within the United Nations that is responible for taking care and looking out for human rights around the world

Arab Spring: a protest that triggered or was part of what triggred the many middle east revolutions and civil wars. The Arab Spring itself was a protest to overthrow the government.
Problems in Syria: Syria was one of the countries most affected by the Arab Spring. It was through many civil wars, causing many people to flee for their lives.

Asylum: a physical place that gives protection and basic human needs. Asylums are often flooded because of the refugee crisis.

Refugee: someone who was forced to move out of their country, for example because of war. Refugees are often undeocumented immigrants
