Modelling is an instructional strategy in which the teacher demonstrates a new concept or approach to learning and students learn by observing. Whenever a teacher demonstrates a concept for a student, that teacher is modelling.

Differentiated teaching occurs when a teacher plans a lesson that adjusts either the content being discussed, the process used to learn or the product expected from students to ensure that learners at different starting points can receive the instruction they need to grow and succeed.

The needs of learners should be considered within the contexts of: their current physical, social, intellectual, and emotional development. the classroom and school environment. the special nature of their communities.

There are at least five ways in which a teacher can respond to the student's needs for affirmation, contribution, power, purpose, and challenge.

To ensure effective learning for all students in the classroom, teachers need to develop sensitivity to individual students' needs and respond to them by flexibly adapting their teaching strategies and content.
