illegal open dump sites in Pampanga
In my city, there's a policy where if your trash is not segregated, they won't collect it.
However, in nearby cities they don't have this policy and some even just dump them in places not designated for trash

education
Kapampangan
Also, because of Kapampangan's absence in the curriculum, most speakers are illiterate in it, furthering its extinction
(Henson, 1965, as cited in Pangilinan, 2009)
.
It's a language on its own right. It has its own vocabulary, grammar rules, etc.
However, they're not being formally taught in schools the same way Filipino or English is so the number of local speakers is decreasing generation by generation.
(De Guzman, 2018)
.
Because Filipino is more comprehensively taught, some words that used to be common just 30 years ago can't be understood anymore by younger generations as they have been replaced by Filipino loan words.
(Pangilinan, 2009)
.
One more issue is that t's more difficult to find Kapampangan arts such as music or novels so Kapampangan works or artists don't get as much support or even just traction.
what I'd like to do:
Compile the materials available in learning the language (grammar, vocabulary// dictionary, etc) and edit to make as relatable/digestible as possible
Consult with various experts for more insights about the Kapampangan language and if ever, about the making of the course.
Make some form of Kapampangan language course by modelling it on the already used Filipino language course.
Make a masterlist of all the available kapampangan works (literature, songs, musicals, etc) and where to find/access them.
politics and governance
worsening climate crisis
Most coastal communities in Manila bay are still facing threats of reclamation and development projects despite these being damaging to critical marine ecosystems and the local fisherfolks' livelihood and sustenance.
As solving environmental issues is inherently political, the government should be more proactive than ever in making and implementing environmental policies.
DENR just dumped white sand on Manila bay. I still can't believe that it actually get carried out. Not only is that project costly, it doesn’t really do anything to rehabilitate Manila bay (it can even be harmful) and if DENR wants to maintain the white sand appearance, they would have to regularly dump crushed dolomite on it because it gets washed away eventually (
