When I was watching TV, there were very little of people that looked like me.
"Wait I thought you were supposed to do well in math, your asian right?"

In society, people use sterotypes to downplay my/others hard work
Ex. Collage admissions look at race a lot when finding applicants. Someone could be Asian and be class president and have a well-rounded resume and they would be classified as a "Tryhard Asian"
This sterotype conforms this group by using past acomplishments to make it harder for others in the same ethnic backround.
When being compared to someone with a "minority" background both with a well rounded resume and grades, the "minority one is chosen. This is because the collage admissions believe that the Asian American is not as good as the other Asians. Its not insulting/discriminating to Asians, but also that person with that "minority background."
Why do you think that other cultural backgrounds joke about from coming from a poor or minority background. Its because collages eat that stuff up and hand scholarships and accept you in like a charity case.

I guess it's a little better than it was a while ago since were not being slaves (Yes this was actually a thing) or being bullied cause your asian. And I mean I guess were kinda mainstream now?
I know that other races are treated badly, cause all of us are not the dominant culture.
I have to work ten times harder if I want to get into collage. Cause my race compensates my hard work.
In my elementary school it was filled with white people so I naturally tried to fit in. But I was not "American enough" And when I got into middle school, there was ALOT of asians. So I tried to fit in there. But I was not Asian enough.
Most of the Asian people could speak their mother tongue, and I regret not being able to pick up my home languages.
