Nancy Clutter, Herb's teenage daughter, smart and kind, always helping other girls within the community with whatever they need
Dick Hickok - One of the the men involved in the Clutter murders, a col individual who ha d a previously bright future, but turned down a life of crime
Perry Smith - The man who killed the Clutter Family. Comes from a bad family, has a bad life all round, suffers from some sort of psychological thing. Was not fully aware of what he had done when he killed the Clutters
Alvin Dewey - Lead investigator on the Clutter case, smart man, the right man for the Clutter job
Mrs. Ashida - Local woman who is helped my Mr. Clutter , but decides to leave town once the murders occur
Barbara Johnson - Perry Smith's sister, only person from the smith family who was able to enter into a normal life
Bobby Rupp - Nancy's boyfriend, school basketball star, had to start seeing less of each other due to their family's varying religious views
Susan Kidwell - Nancy's best friend, they had planned on going to college together, one of the girls to discover the bodies
