The play opens with a storm raised by Prospero and on the ship there are Alonso, Ferdinand, Antonio and his members of the court.
Prospero tells his daughter, Miranda, to be the rightful Duke of Milan but he entrusts his kingdom to his brother Antonio that, together with Alonso, usurps his throne.
Prospero and Miranda are dragged at night on a ship that lands in a magical island, inhabited by Caliban and Ariel
Caliban runs into Stefano and Trinculo, and they try to put together a rebellion against Prospero, which however fails.
eanwhile, a romantic relationship arises between Ferdinand and Miranda.
