SOIL
Cultivates food and drink for humans
Needed for survival
Gave life to soil with seed and water from sky, which produced food
Supports plant and animal life
Easily destroyed and may take centuries to restore
Man must protect and conserve it
Should plant and cultivate soil properly in order to help it thrive
Almighty rewards for care
Harm involves improper care, pollution, and other forms of degradation
Leads to harm of all ecosystems

WATER
No life can exist without water
Supports aquatic life and provides nutrients
We need water for survival
Also need for cleaning specifically before praying
Created for all things = communal property
Brought from heaven
Created streams, rivers, and springs
Serve as drinking source for living things and irrigation for soil
We should be grateful because water allows us to survive
Without conservation water is unfit for consumption and rituals
Freshwater sources are scarce and unevenly distributed
Impairment of water resources compromises freshwater systems
Industrialism has led to an increased need of freshwater
Need to protect from pollution
Pollution destroys our rights to water
Spoiling or wasting water is also a sin and destroys our rights to water
Also form of ingratitude
Ingratitude of blessings
Pollution is a serious threat to marine life
We use marine life as a source of food so we must protect it
FLORA
Creation of trees and plants for admiration and pleasure
Trees provide not only food but also wood (many uses)
Serve as habitats for animals, determine regional climates, keep water resources, provide soil cover, and many other functions
Watershed forests prevent silt buildup
Plants can also be used for medicine production
Genetic material can be used to improve generations and cultures
Produce oxygen which is needed for human survival
Needed for continual survival of humans
Plants and Flora need a specific environment in order to survive and thrive within the universe
Each species has role in the functioning of the universe
Impoverishing of Flora is a form of ingratitude
Any person who causes damage will be punished
FAUNA
Animals are vital - required for universal balance
Must be conserved and protected
Have medicinal value
Countless useful objects can be made from animals
We can use animals as resources, but it must be controlled and monitored
benefits of use must be continual and sustainable
Provide food
Aggression towards fauna is a form of ingratitude
Everything is interconnected, so aggression can affect the entire universal balance
Example: Pest control can have affects on all ecosystems especially when toxic chemicals are used
Habitat destruction is not allowed
Hunting for pleasure is an example of ingratitude
