Nice joints such as dovetail. Looks like there was effort put into it.

I would choose something like this idea but It is not all wood

This could be a potential idea as it fits in nicely with the brief

I think that i will choose the dovetail joint because it looks really well and it is a bit of a challenge compared to a finger joint

If food will be put on the side stand it will have to be finished with a design that is non toxic to humans

Danish oil

Danish oil is safe for surfaces that come in contact with food so it could be a good one to use

Varnish

Although it looks really well varnish is toxic

Wood types

I am hoping to incorporate two different types of wood in project. It will be a dark colour wood for example hardwood and a light colour wood such as softwoods

Ebony

Beech

I know ebony is an expensive wood but just thought it looked really nice
