Colonists were very mad and they didn't want to pay for the troops and many colonists treated them badly.
Many colonists protested and many were killed by the boston massacre
The government forced the people to feed and give shelter to soldiers at their homes

5 citizens were killed because they were protesting at the soldiers
John Adams defends the soldiers in the court trial and they were declared not guilty

Colonists realized that the british and the king were cruel and wanted their own benefit, so they made up their mind to fight for their independence
For the British, 73 were killed, 174 were wounded, and 26 were missing. While the colonists lost many minutemen this battle was a major win for the british
This was the 1st battle of the American Revolution and was like a shot around the world and a battle to encourage independence from Great Britain

The laws were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their defiance in the Tea Party protest in reaction to changes in taxation by the British Government
