Atoms
Measurment of Atoms
Atomic Mass
The Atomic Mass is the addition of the protons an neutrons in an atom. This amount is not always the same for all the atoms in an element
Atomic Number
The atomic mass is the amount of protons an atom has. This number is always the same for an atom of the same element.
Forces on Atoms
Protons
This subatomic particle is positively charged. They are found in the atomic nucleus. Also, they have a similar mass of Neutrons mass as a neutron.
Neutrons
This subatomic particle doesn't have a charge. They have a similar mass to a Proton. They can be found near the nucleus of an atom.
Electrons
These subatomic particles are usually negatively charged. Their mass is much less than of the other forces. They usually orbit around the nucleus of the atom. The amount of electrons in an atom is usually the same as the number of protons.
Types Of Atoms
Isotope
An Isotope doesn't have the same amount of Protons and Neutrons. There can be Isotopes and Stable atoms in the same element
Stable
An stable atom has the same amount of Protons and Neutrons. There can be Isotopes and Stable atoms in the same element
