PARAGRAPH.
Acute care facilities - also known as hospitals/inpatient facilities are vastly different from outpatient centers. In comparison to outpatient centers, acute facilities offer similar services to patients but also offer a lot more. Acute facilities offer care to patients with more serious injuries and also offer patients for overnight stay. Patients are billed based on their LOS (Length of Stay), as opposed to outpatient facilities which only bill for testing and the treatment given by the medical professional. Acute facilities normally have overnight stays that do not exceed 30 days. However, as of recently, inpatient facilities have been offering services at other facilities such as outpatient ones.
