Polytheism
Polythesim in Greece had many Gods, they created myths about these Gods developed to understand mysteries of nature and the power of human passions. Gods had human qualities and lived forever, they also quarreled a lot.
Based off of the Greek gods, typically only the names changed.
Roman Achievements

Rome became a republic and formed a senate and created the 12 tables. They also had an impressive criminal court system.

Socrates
Encouraged students to examine their beliefs. He asked questions to show that people hold many contradictory opinions. He once said "There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance."

Women were not allowed citizenship and were in charge of the children and keeping up with the household.
Techonlogy: Theater, sculpting, math, medical and science advances, concept off democracy and philosophy.
Roman Republic

PLebeians: craftspeople, merchants and farmers
Contributions were their system of law and the 12 tables. All free citizens were protected from the law.
Christianity in Rome
Some hebrews began to resist roman rule and believed that God would send tthe Messiah to restore the kingdom to the Jews. Soon after Jesus was born and was believed to be the Messiah. Jesus preached a version of Judaism that became known as christanity. Roman leaders began to fear Jesus' growing popularity and crucified him for blasphemy. The Apostles molded Jesus' teachings into christanity. Christanity spread quickly because of trade in the roman empire. Many christans were persecuted by romans and became Martyrs. Emperor Constantine then converted to Christanity and the rest of Rome followed.
Aristotle
Taught by Plato. Opened his own school in Athens called the Lyceum that riviled the Academy at one point. He once said "He who studies how things originated... will achieve the clearest view of them."
Roman Empire
Polytheistic, romans were not very emotional about their religion. Emperors toleranted other religions but expected people to respect roman gods as a sign of loyalty.

Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great conquered many countries and cities, therefore he had the largest empire. Alexander spread hellenism and was very intrested in greek culture and history along with some other cultures. He was a military genius, who was well educated and died without a heir.
Plato
Taught by Socrates. Opened his own school in Athens called the Academy in 387 BC. Once said "Philosophy begins in wonder."
Julius Ceasar
Julius Ceasar was a military genius and a roman dictator. He created a calender called the Julian calender that is still used today. Julius Ceasar died from a group of senators stabbing him because he defied their orders and they feared the change he might bring from being dictator, but they killed the republic with him.
Augustus Ceasar
Augustus Ceasar was the first roman emperor. He transitioned Rome from a republic to an empire, he restored peace and reorganized roman life. Augustus came to power after Julius Caesar was killed.
Fall of Roman Empire
The Roman empire was getting attacked from all directions. It became to large to control. There was a food shortage because the men were needed for the military therefore they weren't farming, taxes also got raised to pay for military expenses. Wealthy citizens started moving out of the city to build their own estates.
