How to improve your discussion skills?
Prepare
- Do further reading before the discussion. You can also talk to students on the same course as you or ask your lecturers.
Listen
- The more you listen, the more you will understand. Focus on others explanation and find the main ideas. You have to respect other opinions even if yours are different.
Participate
- Be confidence. Learn some phrases to be able to join others. You can also prepare some questions before the discussions.
Giving & Asking Opinions
- You have to be clear when giving opinions. Add some evidences or examples to support your evidences. Asking for opinions allows all to participate and agree or disagree on your opinions.

- Academic arguments are civilised and polite. When disagreeing, make sure to be polite and use suitable phrases.
