Agreeing and disagreeing
• Try to disagree politely, by first acknowledging their opinion before saying why you disagree.
• It is also possible to disagree but you should avoid doing this too often as it may seem rude.
• It will always be civilised and polite.

• Allow other group members to join the discussion and gives them a chance to share opinions and say whether they agree or disagree with yours.

• Need to make your ideas clear
• You will have to voice your opinion
• Support your opinion by giving reasons and evidence such as examples, statistics or information from readings on the topic.

• You may wish to ask questions to check your understanding.
• Once you have asked for clarification, it is useful to respond to show whether you understand or not so that the speaker can either continue or provide more explanation.
• To make something clearer and easier for listener to understand.
