The amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere has rapidly increased over the past few years. Fossil fuels are now used in our everyday lives, whether it be to heat our homes or fuel or cars. Now, many industries rely on fossil fuels, such as energy, agriculture, land change, and industrial processes.
Mass global warming, the hole burning through the ozone layer, abuse of non renewable resources, and people behaving carelessly has created a dramatic spike in wildfires across the nation. There are currently fires all along the west coast, burning in Oregon, Washington, and California.
Climate change is a phenomenon that has lead to mass global warming, which has lead to icecaps melting, sea levels rising, and an overall temperature increase. A big contributing factor is the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Culture Today
This week makes the beggining of the Jewish High Holidays! Due to circumstances with COVID19 however, most synagogues have opted to do services online this year.
Every year, there is a German-American Oktoberfest festival in downtown Chicago. However, the city of Chicago is currently not allowing big groups to publicly congregate, due to social distancing rules. So, many German restaurants are doing pop-up shops across the city.
As of lately, the media has turned to cover a very important, much overdue conversation: Systemic racism in the American workplace, particularly the police force. African-American culture has been oppressed for years, and people are finally coming together and standing up for themselves, and the respect of their culture.

Greece is a parliamentary representative democratic republic, and the President of Greece is Head of State, while the Prime Minister of Greece is Head of Government. There is still a royal family in Greece, however they are no longer in power as it is not a monarchy.
Pakistan is a federal parliamentary republic, and the government holds a very high amount of power. The Pakistan National Cabinet makes all executive decisions, and is head by the prime minister Imran Kahn. Many citizens have spoken out lately of how they are safe in Pakistan, and they don't feel that the government is helping them.

One of the hottest topics in society today is the current pandemic we're facing: COVID19. While everyone has their own beliefs one whether or not it's real, as well as how serious it actually is, it is undeniable that it has changed all of our lives. In order to keep everyone and ourselves safe , we've been asked to social distance and quarantine.
East Dallas is facing heavy gentrification, and many ethnic and more impoverished neighborhoods are being bought out and luxury apartments are being constructed in primarily Spanish speaking, poorer areas.
There have been multiple protests around the world lately, for multiple reasons , such as police brutality towards the black community, equal rights for women, and unfair government treatment.

India's economy is characterized as a developing market economy, and has some of the highest poverty rates in the world. marketplaces like the one shown are still very common in India, however chains and foreign franchises have started to become more popular, like beef-free McDonalds franchises
Japan has a highly developed free market economy, is the worlds second most developed economy, and is a very wealthy country. However, a current risk Japan is facing is its increasing dependency ratio, and a lack of younger generations of able bodied workers.
The recent laws and social norms regarding COVID19 have seriously hurt the tourism, entertainment, and restaurant industry. Many social businesses have gone out of business due to COVID eliminating the nightlife.

COVID19 has increased the demand for thing such as hand sanitizer, leading to the innovation of distilleries making their own hand sanitizers out of grain alcohol.
