What is language?
-
Marc Serebrisky
Language is the building block for everything that happened and will happen for all of human history, and it is the single most important innovation in all of human history.
It gives life a new meaning, allowing communication to everything in the universe. Everything is based around language, and most likely always will be
There are infinite languages that can be created, with any number of possible creations.

Naming and defining objects or concepts with language is necessary to give those objects structure and meaning. This gives society structure. This is proved by the example of the older deaf Nicaraguans, as they could not really understand thinking as well without having words to define it. - David Sipos
As the survivor of a stroke states, it is near impossible to tie your existence to your conscious thought without language. Language, at least now, gives us a sense of self, a means to identify that we are who we are. - Also David Sipos

Language is necessary to join all of the disconnected thoughts whirling through our minds. - David Sipos
What they said about language being combinatorial, to me, suggested that as language developed it became more complex as humans, such as Shakespeare, tried new and more complicated combinations of words to become the (semi) eloquent tongue we use today. - David Sipos

(Travis Tiller) I don't have any idea what happened to my line, pretty much everything got deleted

language is basically the thoughts of your brain turned into letters and words. It can also work the other way around, with the words connecting and building on things in your brain that could not be connected before. Just like how 5-6 years old can learn "the left of blue" as said in Radiolab-Words

(Rachel Kolko) Language is a way of sharing ideas whether is be through speaking, hand gestures, sounds, writing, and so much more.
(Rachel Kolko) Language can also be a barrier for humans. Because we are so advanced we don't have that peaceful connection to the rest of nature. In the Radiolab however, Jill had a stroke and said that when she lost language she gained that connection. She said she understood the world more than she ever had.

(Rachel Kolko) Language can be developed in so many ways. Thoughts and language are connected relate. You formulate what you want to say or write, just like I am doing right now with this assignment. Even if I don't notice I'm doing it, I'm sending a message to my fingers to type these certain letters to then communicate my thoughts onto this document. Sometimes I notice it may take me longer to put what I'm thinking into words on paper while other times I barely notice I am thinking about what I want to write.
