Convergence
Adults can focus on an object with both eyes simultaneously
Children are not able to properly focus both eyes on an object simultaneously
Depth perception
Adults have fully developed depth perception and are able to interpret the 3D world around them
Children have trouble noticing the gap between a step or a dip in the sidewalk.

Walks holding on to hands or furniture

Be able to walk by themselves without any helps

Begin to understand the emotions they are feeling
Hasn't developed much impulse control. If they feel something, they are likely to act on it
Example: snatching a toy away from another child if he wants to play with it

Begin to see a connection between emotional outbursts and negative consequences
Example: understand a tantrum isn't an acceptable way to show emotion.
They start to understand that others have feelings, too
