Mesopotamia
Religion: On page 14-15 it says that the sumerians believed in many gods and goddesses. It also said that each city or town had there own deity.

Government: On page 30-31 it says the akkadian empire. It also says that babylon became the most civilized cities of the time.

Architecture: In the text it said that Ziggurats were temples that represented a mountain stretching from the earth to the Heavens. An example is that Urs Ziggurat is dedicated to the moon god named nana

writing The author says that the first written language was called pictographs. These pictographs were pictures that tell what they have done.

Location: On page 6-7 it said at one time Mesopotamia existed in Turkey, Syria, and southwestern Iran. Mesopotamia also was located next to two great rivers the Tigris, which rises from the tourist mountains as well as the Euphrates. (Steele 6)
art: On page 28-29 it says that they mastered many technologies early on and one was crafts. It also said that they used clay and did pottery and they are known for the potters wheel.

Ancient Egypt
Government: On page 10 it says that the pharaoh wasn't the most powerful person but he was the most respected. They were also thought to be gods.

writing: On pages 34-35 it says that hieroglyphics were a form of picture-writing with about 700 different signs. It also says that hieroglyphics were used on state monuments, temples, tombs, and religious papyri.

Location: On page 8 it says that the egyptians lived on canals called "Kemet" or the "Black land". It also said that desserts covered more than 90% of egypt.

architecture: On page 20-21 it says that the first pyramid was built for king Djoser. It also says that pyramids were made to look like a stairway to heaven.

Art: On page 50 it talks about how musical instruments were everywhere and so were pictures of people dancing. On page 56-57 it talks about how much gold was on ancient egypt and how much gold they put on and how we see it from paintings.

Religion: On page 24 it says that they expressed gods by different animals. It also says that the sun god was the most powerful god because it could transform.

Ancient India
Religion: The text says that they believed in Brahmanism. Brahmanism was heavily influenced by hinduism. They both share many of their rituals.

Location: In the text it said in the 1920's, archaeologists discovered the remains of ancient cities in the regions. The region around the indus river had rich fertile soil which was good for farming. The indus river is located in south asia and modern day pakistan.

Writing: In the text it says there are more than 400 symbols in different locations. The symbols have been found on many materials that were used daily. Some modern day scholars wonder if the symbols actually mean anything or not.

Architecture/technology: In the text it says they had working water from wells. They also had rooms with working drains that you could dispose of waste water. By the indus river they had well mapped out and planned cities.

Government: In the text it said that the caste group affected the aryans. The caste system is a social group where people are born into their social system and can't change it. The caste system started because the aryans only had four social groups with different jobs.
