in the text it said that most of the area that was ancient mesopotamia was located in modern day iraq. Two great rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates, join near Al-Qurna in Iraq.

art: In the text it says the ancient mesopotamians were great lovers of poetry, art, and music. The text also says public art was on a grand scale (Steele 26)
government: Text text says The regions of each dynasty were recorded on clay tablets known as king lists. Sumerian Rulers enjoyed great power and fame exploits and deeds were remembered for centuries. (steele 24)
writing: the author says early people who lived as hunters and nomads did not need written records. The sumerians devised the world's first script or writing system. ( Steele 12)

Religion: The text says the vedas is a religious text. Brahmanism is like Hinduism because they share similar traits and rituals. Vedas also describe famous victories of the Aryans as they invaded India
Location: The author wrote that the Indus Valley civilization covered the modern day country of Pakistan, the northwest portion of India, and a bit of Afghanistan. In the region, under layers of dirt, people found remains of 4,000 year old cities. Around 5,000 years ago, along and alluvial plain, the civilization developed and it was close to a major water source. (Prentice Hall:world studies)
writing: In the text it says that the ancient Indian writing could not be deciphered. Many symbols are located on seals, pots, and other things. some people wonder if the symbols actually constituded a proper writing system. (Prentice Hall:world studies)
Archiecture/technology: In the text it says that the citizens of ancient India cared a lot about their hygiene.The remnants of the cities was one of the earliest sanitation system. The walls were built to protect them from floods and enemies. (Prentice Hall:world studies)
Government: The author states that the ancient indian social classes were called the caste system. There were 4 classes Brahmana the priests and educated, Kshatriya the rulers and warriors, Vaishya the farmer and artisans, and then the dalits the lowest system of society. The dalits were called the untouchables. (Prentice Hall:world studies)
