Unit two: Ancient 
Mesopotamia
location: In the text it says, that most of the area that was ancient Mesopotamia was located in modern day Iraq. Two great rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates, join near AI-Qurna in Iraq.(Steele 6)
Writing: In the text it states. At first they used picture symbols, to repersent objects such as caattle , or fish. Now adays people write cuneiform like this, they have a triangular stick and some clay and they write whatever they want in the clay. (steele 12)
Art The author wrote they have wooden carved hedgehog toys for children, wich was either consierded an offering from the gods, or a childerens toy. Also, the worlds oldest known dice where found at Tepe Gawra, near the modern city of Mosul, and date from about 2750 BCE. (Steele 15)
Religion: In the text it states, that they both belived that it was a boat of God. Also it says that they think the whole world floats on the waters of God. (steele 14)
Goverment: In the text it said that the rulers enjoyed power and fame and that their deeds where rememberd forever. Some of the rulers also became legendary (steele 12)
Architecture (buildings) On page six it states, a sacred Ziggurat that rises from the ancient site of Ur. During this time people began to write down historical records of their battles and peace treaties and laws (Steele 6)
Ancient Egypt
Location: In the text it says that the ancient Egyptians lived near the Nile River or in various canals coming off of it. For example this area was also called the balck land because after flooding there would be drinched dark silt. (8 HART)
Religion: In the text it says, That Amun-re became the princable God during thr new kingdom. They also have Jackals that are used to haunt cemetrys so that they are lenghted with funreals. ( 24 HART)
Architecture: the author wrote that pyrimaids can be 154ft long and 28 ft long. They usally have magnifemcient stone roofs on them. Around 4,500 years ago there was a pyrimaid built for King Khufu. (Hart 20)
Writing: In the text it states, Scibies have to be experts in writing hieroglyphs, an elaborate form of picture writing with about 700 diffrent signs. They can be written from left to right, right to left, and top to bottom. ( 34 HART)
art:In the text it says, that the weapons/ art that was made was usally made from trees. The artist always use's a saw to carve all of the art, when carving all of the projects (Pg. 42 HART)
Goverment: In the text it said, that the dated events to aparticular year in the regin of a king or pharaoh. The resulting chronology is not exact or complete , however, and it is subject to chnage when new discovers are made (HART 66). (

Writing: On page 11 it states, the Shang Kings used oracle bones where used to give advice to the ancectoral spirits. The oracle bones would answer the inportant questions. After the questions where answered they where inscibed on the bones.(cotterell 11)
