Ancient Egypt
Location in the text it said that the ancient Egyptians lived near the Nile River or in various canals coming off of it.This area was also called the black land because after flooding after there would be rich dark silt.(hart 8)
religion: The Egyptians worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses. many of the gods are represented by animals: a baboon might stand for thoth, the god of wisdom, at one temple. and a moon god named khonsu at another
Government: At great state occasions like royal jubilee celebrations or the giving of gifts to favored countries, the king and court gathered together, and the top officials ect, some of these countries were relatives of the king, someone high office through their ability as scribes (hart 12)

It was deliberately kept complicated so that not to many people could master it. so that Scribes could keep there special position. Hieroglyphics were also used to state monuments, temples, tombs, ect. they could be written from left to right to top to bottom (hart 34)
