Ancient Egypt
Government: In the text it said the Egyptians were a part of a theocracy which means that they are ruled by the priest or a biblical leader. En example of a priest is Thinker, one of the ancient priests. (Hart 28-29)
Architecture: The Egyptians often built pyramids and tombs. These were asked to be built by the pharaohs to be their burial site. The peasants and peasant farmers would build these to try to pay off their taxes. (Hart 22)
Art: In the text it said that the Egyptians often made things such as stone vases, necklaces, pottery vases, and cosmetic palettes. Sometimes ivory would be added to these pieces of art to add value to them. (Hart 7)
Writing: In the book it said that Hieroglyphs were an elaborate form of picture writing written by people called Scribes. Scribes had to be experts in this and their hieroglyphs they made were used on state monuments, temples, tombs, and papyri. (Hart 34)
Religion: In the text it said the Egyptians were polytheistic which means they worshipped many different gods. Some of the gods that the Egyptians worshipped Amun- Re, Thoth, Anubis, and Osiris. (Hart 24-25)
Location: On page 8 it said the land of the Ancient Egyptians was called the "Black Land" due to the rich dark silt. The people of Ancient Egypt lived along the Nile River where floods made the land fertile. (Hart 8)
Writing: On page 11, it says that the oracle bones were used to talk with ancestral spirits. The oracle bones would be used to answer their important questions. After the questions were answered, they were inscribed onto the bone, which were typically ox bones and tortoiseshells. (Cotterell 11)

Writing: The author stated that the Aryans had a form of writing that to this day, is still indecipherable. Seals, ceramic pots, and other materials are where most of this form of writing are found in today. Professionals to this day still wonder if this is even a form of writing,or just pictures.

Architecture/Technology: The text states that very well planned cities were found, thought to be built by the Aryans. The early cities here were cared for deeply, and people would make sure their homes were well maintained. The Aryans even developed an early form of the toilet, as holes with water serving as toilets. (Prentice Hall: World Studies)
Location: In the text it says that in the 1920s, archeologists discovered remains of ancient cities in the region. The region around the Indus River had rich, fertile soil, great for farming. The Indus River is located in South Asia, specifically within modern day Pakistan. (Prentice Hall: World Studies)
Government: In the text it said that the Aryans lived in a government system called the Caste System. With the Caste System, many people were treated greater than others or like criminals, only due to the group they were born in. Due to their belief in karma, when they die with good karma, they will move up a social group in the Caste System. (Prentice Hall: World Studies)
Religion: The author wrote that that the Vedas were a sacred text to the Aryans. The Aryans also practiced Brahmanism, which was the early form of Hinduism, which has developed over time. Though these two religions share many similarities, Brahmanism was a polytheistic, whereas Hinduism is not a polytheistic religion. (Prentice Hall: World Studies)
