Location:In the text it tells us that desert covered more than 90 percent of Egypt. The Nile would flood and bring silt for the crops, it was very healthy for their crops and it is the only reason there is a civilization at all. (Hart 8)
Writing:On page 34 it states that there were about 700 different signs for them to learn. They kept getting harder and more complex, so it was confined as some one's job and they were used in state monuments, temples, tombs, and religious papyri.(Hart 34)
Architecture:One thing I found in the book was how they talked about the Pyramids and why they were built, they were built as tombs for their dead leaders. Another thing I found was that tomb robbers would try and rob the grave, but there was an intricate passage built so it would be harder, even with those the tombs were completely robbed by 1000 BCE. (Hart 20)
Art: When we look back into the past of Ancient Egypt you will see that they enjoyed music and dancing. Not only did they enjoy music, but they also celebrated festivals, incorporating a lot of music and dancing into those as well. (Hart 50)
Government:On page 28 it states that pharaohs were supposed to perform sacred rituals, but the chief priest usually took that role. The temple priest would decide the wealth of the temple, and were very powerful until the king took some of their power. (Hart 28)
Religion:The Egyptians used the things around them and described them as gods, they would name the sun and the moon. These gods and goddesses were so important to them, they named each (42) of their nomes after one of them. (Hart 24)
