Writing: In the text it said that the oracle bone was an ox bone or tortoise shell scorched until it would crack. After scorched, the cracks were read and questions were answered by ancestors. After the questions were answered they carved the question into the bone. (Cotterell 11)

Architecture/Technology: In the text it said,"Cities around the Indus RIver cared about hygiene and has evidence of the earliest sanitation systems. The houses in these cities had drains in certain rooms where excess water could flow. The cities also had various building such as granaries, warehouses, protective walls, and even dockyards(Prentice Hall World Studies)."
Government: The author stated, "An impact on modern India was the caste system which was created by the Aryans. The caste system is a type of social group where people born in a certain rank stays there. People are categorized on their wealth(Prentice Hall World Studies)."

Location: An example is, "Over time a vast number of civilizations were built along the Indus River. The Indus River covers a lot of South Asia, including modern-day Pakistan, India and a bit of Afghanistan. The Indus RIver Valley was a place that had good soil for agriculture(Prentice Hall World Studies)."
Writing: The author wrote," Over 400 written symbols were found in the Indus area. These Symbols were found on numerous items such as pottery, seals, and other materials. Scholars do not think that it is a proper writing system(Prentice Hall World Studies)."
Religion: The text states, "Most of the information we know about the Indus area is from the Vedas. The Vedas are mainly religious texts, but also tell about other things such as the many victories against the Aryans. Aryans believed in Brahmanism which is based off of Hinduism(Prentice Hall World Studies).
