Ancient Egypt
Religion:On page 24 it said that the Egyptians worshipped hundreds of gods and goddesses. Page 24 also said that many of these gods were represented by various animals such as a baboon. (Hart 24)

Location:In the text it said the majority of Egypt was covered by desert. It also stated as a result, the ancient Egyptians lived near the Nile River called Kemet (Black Land) because of the dark, fertile silt. (Hart 8)
Government:The text said that the pharaoh was the most powerful man, but wals also considered a god Since the pharaoh was considered a god the queen was considered a goddess. (HART 10)

Art:The author tells us that the carpenters would make elaborate or simple coffins,tables,cosmetic chests, and statues were made. It also states that carpenters were valued workers and paid well for their quality and their beauty of their products.( Hart 42)
Architecture (Buildings): The pyramids are designed to represent the mounds that emerged from the ground in the beginning of time. Doors of granite and false passage ways were designed to deter the grave robbers that try to steal the great treasures of the present and the past.(Hart 20)

Writing: In the text it said that their writing consisted of 700 different signs. It also stated that they also wrote in hieratic which was a more condensed and simpler version of Hieroglyphics. (Hart 34) 
Ancient China
Writing: On page eleven it says that the Shang kings used the oracle bones to transfer information or an answer from the spiritual realm to the present. The oracle bone was the object that answered questions. The questions were engraved into the bone of a ox shoulder or a tortoise shell typically. (Cotterell 11)
