Microcosm 1. Americans spend a lot more on health care than many other countries Canada for example spends 35% less on healthcare than Americans do.
https://www.jhsph.edu/news/news-releases/2019/us-health-care-spending-highest-among-developed-countries.html
The US spends more on health care than any other developed country because of higher prices for drugs and larger salaries for healthcare workers.
Anecdotal Testimony. Americans spend much more on health care than other countries because of higher drug prices and higher salaries for health care workers.
Anecdotal exception to this rule. People that refuse health care in America and use traditional medicine.
Microcosm 2. There is lots of division in classes financially in the US and in places like Australia where you're a less likely to be unemployed there's less of a class divide.
https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2020/02/07/6-facts-about-economic-inequality-in-the-u-s/
There is a growing economic divide between classes in the US .In 2018 the top 5th of the country brought in 52% of all income in the US.
Anecdotal Testimony. The rich stay rich and the poor get poorer is a very true saying in the US economy. People born into rich families normally stay rich most of their life because they had access to better education and could afford to go to college. The poor tend to stay poor because they don't do well in school because they're missing school and not getting homework done because they are working to try and help out at home.
Anecdotal exception to this rule. Some people manage to escape poverty in the US through athletics and managing to go pro in a sport. Some others work very hard in school to make great grades and and get scholarships to pay for college and then get a good job out of college.

microcosm 1. Americans are viewed as very strongly opinionated people a lot more so than people from other countries.
https://www.usatoday.com/picture-gallery/travel/2018/12/20/20-weird-things-foreigners-say-americans/2373768002/
. Many Americans have very strong opinions on many controversial topics and many people from foreign countries think Americans are too self centered and arrogant because they are so outspoken on their opinions.
Anecdotal Testimony. Americans are normally some of the most stubborn and opinionated people. They have an opinion on something and they are very outspoken with their opinion and will argue with you if your opinion is different from theirs.
Anecdotal Exception to the Rule. Some people are more open minded than most people and will put more thought in their opinion and will accept others opinions even though they are different and sometimes may change their own opinion because they listened to someone else and they agree more with that view of a topic rather than where they stood before hearing that persons opinion.
Microcosm 2. All Americans are rich and living a good life like on TV and in movies.
https://www.quora.com/Why-do-people-always-assume-that-all-Americans-are-rich
. People from foreign countries generally assume that Americans are rich because we don't experience poverty as widespread as many foreign countries.
Anecdotal testimony. The ways that many foreigners view America is through social media and things like that where you see all the good things happening in peoples lives and them showing new clothes and cars and fancy places that they've visited and that makes many foreigners believe that most Americans are well off.
Anecdotal Exception to the Rule. There are many people in America that are living in poverty such as the homeless and people living in large ares with smaller apartments with bars on the windows and working multiple jobs just to pay off their rent and feed their children.

Microcosm 1. Americans are very busy people and are always on the move so we have things like fast food and get our food from restaurants to-go.
http://web.colby.edu/st297-global18/2018/10/29/americas-fast-food-obsession/
. Many Americans eat fast food because its faster and easier than sitting down in a restaurant and enjoying a meal when you could save time getting your food and eating in 10 minutes and much more time to get things done.
Anecdotal Testimony. Many Americans are very busy people and don't like spending time doing things like eating when they could be getting more work done.
Anecdotal exception to the rule. My family tries to at least a couple times a week to sit down at the end of the day and have a home cooked meal rather than just getting some food to go from a restaurant.
microcosm 2. Americans love their sports especially football whether it's professional college or high school. Americans love watching a good competitive game.
https://www.quora.com/Why-are-Americans-obsessed-with-sports-over-academics
. Americans love competition whether it's watching or competing themselves in some sort of competition.
Anecdotal testimony. Me along with millions of other Americans love watching a good close basketball or football game and watching athletes giving their all to that game to try and win.
Anecdotal exception to the rule. Some people could care less about sports and would rather read or watch the news than watch some sort of competition.

Microcosm 1. Americans are self centered people
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/life-in-the-intersection/201804/is-narcissism-the-cost-being-american
.
Americans are very narcissistic and individualistic because they want to be better than everyone else so they live everyday with the mindset that they are better than everyone.
Anecdotal testimony. Many Americans thrive to be rich and better than everyone else so they keep that mindset everyday so hopefully one day they are the best.
Anecdotal exception to this rule. Some Americans aren't narcissistic people and actually want to bring up the people around them and don't make everything all about themselves.
Microcosm 2.Americans are vert ignorant as to what else is going on in the world.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2016/06/27/do-americans-care-about-the-rest-of-the-world-these-two-google-maps-give-you-the-answer/
Americans are very ignorant as to everything that is happening globally and this article talks about the lack of media coverage that america has on things going on globally that don't directly involve the US.
Anecdotal Testimony. The media bias and lack of global coverage causes many Americans to be ignorant on things going on in other countries because the only things they hear about on the news is Trump, Biden, and White officers assaulting and killing you black men.
Anecdotal exception to the rule. Some Americans like to know what is going on globally and will do research on their own to find out what is happening around the world.
