PROTOTYPING
DESIGN THINKING
INSPIRATION which involves understanding the problem, question, or situation
As this is a reflection on my positive obsession project, regarding what inspired me was issues with technology and identitiy that I have personally faced in the past as well as issues that I see in the society around me especailyl amongst youth.
Further inspiration is stories that I have heard from peers and my little sisters friends who have called further attention to these issues and dilemmas we are facing in this digital world
EMPATHY which includes relating to the wants or needs of those connected to the problem
For this project I began with empathasizing with myself and the past that I had and then connecting to those stories that I had heard. It is important to witness and accept struggles in order to be able to talk about them
IMPLEMENTATION + PROTOTYPING which concretizes the results from the ideation process and offers an object, artifact, or example product that can be tested, evaluated, shared, and refined.
I think the fact that this project was in the format of a podcast could not have been better. A podcast is the perfect format to tackle this issue as it is telling a story and by telling a story we can connect to people.
I wrote a couple drafts. First in bullet points. then tried to map it out. Then wrote and rewrote a transcript and finally while saying recording the story coming from my mouth it seemed to evolve even more; which I hope made it more authentic because that was one of the values I found incredibly important to convey this story.
IDEATION which supports convergent and divergent thinking. This ranges from approaches that encourage people to brainstorm and think outside of the box to choosing the best out of available options that work toward a common goal.
I wanted to tell this story in a way that was personal for me to hook audeinces attention but to also give real world anecdotes so that others could connect,
Further more doing esearch such as watching the documentary the social dilemma furthered ideas and ways to tackle the subject
