Interpreted to be a mean, median, standard deviation and percentile rank
the purpose is to place the test takers along a mathematical continuum in rank order

Help the student's process to grow the delivery is by the teach and internalization by student of appropriate feedback on the performance
Summative Assessment
Measuring, summarizing what a student has grasped usually happened at the end of the course ex: final exam
