3.DISTANCE TIME GRAPH
Distance -Time Graphs. 'Distance' is the total length travelled by an object. The standard unit is the 'metre'. A distance-time graph shows how far an object has travelled in a given time.
The acceleration (i.e., slope) is 4 m/s/s. If you think the slope is 5 m/s/s, then you're making a common mistake. You are picking one point (probably 5 s, 25 m/s) and dividing y/x. Instead you must pick two points (as in the discussed in this part of the lesson) and divide the change in y by the change in x.
It can be employed under various conditions where objects move with uniform speed, non uniform speed remain at rest.
Velocity-time graph is a plot between Velocity and Time. It shows the Motion of the object that moves in a Straight Line. Magnitude of Velocity at a given instant is equal to its Instantaneous Speed.
Velocity-time graphs are used to describe the motion of objects which are moving in a straight line. They can be used to show acceleration and to work out displacement.
This type of motion is defined as the motion of an object in which the object travels in a straight line and its velocity remains constant along that line as it covers equal distances in equal intervals of time, irrespective of the duration of the time.
If a body is involved in rectilinear motion and the motion is consistent, then the acceleration of the body must be zero.
-
If the speed of a car is 10 m/s, it means that the car covers 10 meters in one second. The speed is constant in every second.
-
This type of motion is defined as the motion of an object in which the object travels with varied speed and it does not cover same distance in equal time intervals, irrespective of the time interval duration.
A body is said to be in a non-uniform motion if it travels unequal distances in equal intervals of time.
-
If a car covers 10 meters in first two seconds, and 15 meters in next two seconds.
