Area and Equipment Maintenance 1
Types of Processes
Maintain and Preserve
Sets of techniques that are intended to achieve optimal use of productive assets, keeping those in the state that requires efficient production.
Preventative Maintenance
It is done in a preset way with the aim of
prevention of the occurrence of failures.
It consists of periodic inspection of the appliance or device, in the adjustment or replacement of parts.
The purpose is to prevent failures from increasing and thus lengthening the
life of the machinery.
Conditional maintenance
It is determined according to significant criteria parameter degradation period.
The objectives are to indicate when there is a problem, to diagnose between good and bad conditions; and if it's bad to indicate how bad it is.
This type of maintenance reduces the costs caused by machine and process downtime.
Corrective Maintenance
Unplanned
Corrective maintenance service for breakdowns, ensuring a fast and effective response that minimizes accidental stop losses.
Palliative or field maintenance
This form of maintenance prevents the reliable diagnosis of the causes that cause the failure, because it is ignored if I fail due to poor treatment, by default, by unknown handling, by natural wear, etc.
Planned
Consists of the repair of equipment or machine when disposed from the material, spare part, and technical documents to them.
Installation Details
Monitoring program
Are important to apply and record any changes to documented records, to establish and keep processes up-to-date
These programs must be of an appropriate degree to ensure the complete functionality of the equipment during emergency operations.
Defining tasks
Inside a ship is vital for the proper functioning of machinery and the maintenance of the physical structures of the ship
Responsibility Centers
They are areas of great importance as these are in charge of safety until the structures of the ships are rebuilt.
Feedback System
Having adequate and up-to-date equipment information will ensure an adequate inventory of the different items, which will facilitate the handling of the same and their maintenance.
Cleaning and Supplies
Supervision Program
Through this evaluation, the work teams will be enabled to:
Identify availability losses
Identifying performance efficiency losses
Identify quality losses
Some aspects that could adversely affect the ship's maintenance process can be prevented
Defining Tasks
It is very important to note that they must be divided by sections or by groups
The area supervisor is responsible for giving the guidelines for carrying out this task.
Responsibility Center
These are the places where aid can be received at certain times that there is a problem with the vessel
Maintenance Program
Are very important because thanks to these you can avoid damage on and off the boat.
To maintain a better order in these maintenance programs it is customary to make work crews
Equipment Maintenance
Pump
They are hydraulic machines where energy is transferred from the rotor to fluid, producing a conversion of kinetic pressure energy.
A pump repair that is performed after a breakdown can cost you more than 2 1/2 times what a repair has been performed before failure.
Motores
By means of the engines the start-up is given and the function is achieved to execute the impulses to mobilize said vessel or ship.
Some of the generalized maintenance that should be given to the engine
:
Check engine oil levels, engine coolant and transmission oil.
Inspect the engine for leaks and loose connections.
Change oil and engine filter.
Clean crankcase vent.
Clean and check the electrolyte level of the batteries.
Change secondary filter and clean the primary fuel filter.
Obtain samples for A.P.A. oil analysis.
