newtons law of motion
second law of motion
It states that the rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportional to the applied force and takes place in the direction in which the force acts.
example of newton second law of motion
when an athlete on sand in long high jump sand is carried in the direction of jump & the time interval is increased thus an athlete is not hurt
A cricket player lower his hand while catching ball.As a result force exerted on his hand is less so he is likely not hurt
momentum=mass x velocity
newton first law of motion
Newton's first law of motion states that “A body at rest or uniform motion will continue to be at rest or uniform motion until and unless a net external force acts on it”
examples of newton first law of motion
Second example of inertia of rest: Fall of rider backwards: You must have also noticed that the rider of a horse
First example of inertia of rest: Fall of dust particles from a durries or cloth: We all have seen that the dust...
drivation of newton's first law of motion
F = ma
or F = m(v-u) / t
or Ft = mv - mu
That is, when F = 0, v = u for whatever time, t is taken. This means that the object will continue moving with uniform velocity, u throughout the time, t. If u is zero than v will also be zero, i.e., object will remain at rest.
newton third law of motion
Newton's Third Law of Motion states that there is always reaction for every action in opposite direction and of equal magnitude, i.e., action and reaction forces are equal and opposite.
examples of newton third law of motion
when a sailor jumps out of boat he applied a forward force on the boat and the boat move
backward due to force of reaction
when a gun is fired the exploding gases due to chemical reaction exerts a forward force on a bullet . The bullet exert a an equal and opposite reaction of force on the gun . This result in recoil of force
while swimming a person pushes water with his hand and feet in backward direction while water pushes the person with an equal force in forward direction
