What is Climate
Temperate Zone
The part of the Earth's surface between the Arctic Circle and the Tropic of Cancer or between the Antarctic Circle and the Tropic of Capricorn; characterized by temperate climate [i.e. mild, moderate temperature; neither hot nor cold].
The temperate zones (latitudes from 23.5° to the polar circles at about 66.5°, north and south) are where the widest seasonal changes occur, with most climates found in it having some influence from both the tropics and the poles.

Climate
The word climate means the weather conditions of an area over a long period of time. It is different than weather, which we think about and measure on a day-to-day basis. Climate refers to patterns of weather over the course of years, decades, even centuries.

Polar Zone
The polar zone encompasses the areas around the North and South Poles. Starting from the North Pole, this zone stretches to the Arctic Circle in the Northern Hemisphere, and reaches even further south in North America and Asia.
Polar habitats are located at the very top and very bottom of the Earth. They are cold, windy and have a lot of snow and ice. It's even too cold for trees to grow. Tundra takes up a lot of the area of polar habitats.
The Arctic habitat is a very cold place at the top of the world where some plants and animals live, and is made up of the Arctic Ocean, icy glaciers and tundra, or flat plains with no trees.

Tropical Zone
A tropical climate is a type of climate typical in the tropics. It is a damp climate in which all twelve months have mean temperatures above 18°C (64.4 °F). Tropical Climates have almost continuous rainfall throughout the year, usually in the afternoon.

An area with tropical climate is one with an average temperature of above 18 degrees Celsius (64 degrees Fahrenheit) and considerable precipitation during at least part of the year. These areas are nonarid and are generally consistent with equatorial climate conditions around the world.
