The product must be big enough to hold multiple items on it at the same time whilst moving
The product must also retain its balance
Make sure the product or serving tray is not exaggeratedly over-sized so that waiters can actually hold it.

Health and Safety
The product should not contain any sharp edges that might injure the ones using it
If using wood for the main material when manufacturing the product, make sure there are no splinters by applying a quality finish
Use materials that meet the Health and Safety regulations
Test the product to see if it is safe to use before selling it to the customer
Language barriers so it is useful to use pictograms
Europe have their own regulations your product must meet if you want to sell it within Europe
Environment
Must include a recyclable/sustainable material to reduce the impact on the environment
