Shiva was the 2nd of the 3 most important gods in hinduism. Shiva means the destroyer. Shiva was married to Paruati. He was usually pictured surrounded by fire holding a drum. (Dharma Wikia) (https://dharma.wikia.org/wiki/Shiva)

Goal of Hinduism
The Goal of Hinduism was to achieve peace and perfection. When you achieve this and become one with god, it's called Moksha.
Caste System
The Caste System was the Social class system in Hinduism. The top tier of the caste system was called the Brahmin. The Brahmin were the Preists. They were highly respected and well known as the best in society.
The second tier on the Caste System is called the Kshatriya. They are the people in the government and the warriors/soldiers.
The third tier on the caste system was called the Vaisya. The people in this tier were the people who protected the food and cows, as well as the tradesmen.
The fourth tier on the caste system was called the Sudra. The people in this tier were the servants or the people with no education.
The bottom tier of the caste system was called the Untouchables/Outcasts. The people in this tier were called very impure. They were poor, and did the undesirable jobs in society.
Vedas
The Vedas were the holy texts of Hinduism. They were written around 1500 BC. They were written in sanskirt.

The Four Yogas
Jnana Yoga is 1/4 of the four main yogas in hinduism. Jnana Yoga is designed for very intelligent people such as philosophers.
Bhakti Yoga is the 2nd of 4 main types of yoga in hinduism. Bhakti is centered around love and devotion. This type of yoga is the most common type of yoga in hinduism.
Karma Yoga is the 3rd out of 4 maintypes of yoga in hinduism. Karma Yoga is designed for active people.
Raja Yoga is the 4th out of 4 main types of yoga in hinduism. Raja Yoga uses psychological experimentation. The results are said to be great, but this type of yoga has extreme risks to is such as neurosis.

Hindu Holidays One of the most popular Hindu holidays is Diwali. Diwali means festival of lights. Another is Maha Shivaratri. This is a festival that celebrates the diety Shiva.

Siddartha/Buddha was the main figure of Buddhism. He was the creator of Buddhism. He was a Hindu Prince. At his birth it was said that all disabilities were resolved. He was hated by a demon named Mara. He was born and raised wealthy, but went out into the world to see the unfiltered world. He encountered 4 passing sights of which he'd never encountered before. He also spoke of 4 Noble Truths. Buddha created an 8 fold path to follow to end suffering. Dalai Lama is a concept created in Tibetan Buddhism. The Dalai Lama gets reincarnated when he dies. He is a head monk, and gets reborn/reincarnated to speak and teach about buddhism.
Compassion is a hugely important value in Buddhism. This value teaches empathy and kindness to those around you, and to nature. Practicing compassion for others will help to end your suffering and reach enlightenment.
Bodhisattva is the term used for someone who could reach enlightenment. They teach people how to follow the eight fold path. The goal of this is to help others end their suffering.

Aryans were one of the first groups of people in Classical India. They were said to be noble and pure. Their social class system had Cheifs and Rajas at the top tier. The priests were the second tier. The Warriors were the thirs tier. The last tier had the tradesmen. They were a patriarchal group who spoke sanskirt.
Dravidians were one of the first groups of people in Classical India. They were peaceful farmers who lived in the south part of india. They were peaceful farmers with low social class.

Dharma was 1/3 of the 3 main concepts of hinduism. Dharma means your fate or path. It means fulfilling your role in society.
Karma was the 2nd of the 3 Main concepts of hinduism. Karma means that your deeds from this life or a past one will cause your fate.
Samara was the 3rd out of the 3 main concepts of hiduism. Samsara means reincarnation. This concept incorporated the belief that when we die we are reborn in a whole new life. This cycle repeats until we achieve Moksha.
