PATHOPHYSIOLOY
Bulimia engages in repeated episodes of binge eating followed by inappropriate compensatory behaviors such as self-induced vomiting misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or other medications; fasting; or excessive exercise. This disorder is characterized by a significant disturbance in the perception of body shape and weight.
BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS
Cognitive-behavior therapy is a structured treatment it consists of 20 sessions. Goals are set, sessions are spent weighing patient, reviewing case formulation, teaching skills and problem solving.
