But...
It is respecting other cultures/religions/customs even if your own does not agree or follow the same beliefs.
It can also be participating and living through different cultures in order to understand the lifestyle of people around the world.
It can mean sharing your own culture with the world demonstrating how your culture is different to others.
It can be giving others opportunities to live in your shoes, being able to share the gift of being exposed to the international community.
It also means celebrating your own culture and appreciating it for its individuality just as much as other cultures around the world.

As the world is getting more and more interconnected due to globalization it is more important now than ever to be understanding and accepting of other cultures and embrace diversity rather than shun it.
With the rise of technology we are now able to easily communicate with people all around the world, learning different cultures allows us to socialise and learn from people of different cultures.
Being internationally minded helps unite us and gives us new perspectives and solutions to giving us better chances at battling global threats as an united earth.

International mindedness means understanding, respecting, and valuing different cultures around the world and trying to learn from them so as to embrace diversity and acknowledge that cultures unfamiliar to oneself are not "wrong" and have a lot to offer.
International Mindedness is the ability to be open minded about other cultures, customs etc. around the world, and understand that what one sees as ‘normal’ is not the global standard.
