Conduct audits in different scenarios to develop skills
First aid certificate
Obtain and maintain First Aid Certificate from credible supplier (St John 2020)
Become involved in accident management and basic first aid on site
Gain additional first aid experience (Community sports, volunteer work for events)

Research techniques to develop presentation skills
Find free web series that coaches using practical tips for public speaking
Practice with friends and family to build confidence

Research internal training and development provided by the employer
Schedule training and conferences to engage in for a year out

Interim Term (3yrs)
Development Activities
Understand the process safety on site
Spend time with the process safety engineers / specialists on site to learn from their knowledge and experience
Enrol in training to understand the foundations of process safety (Open Universities Australia 2020)
Complete a project within this area to further develop an understanding of process safety in a practical environment
Learn the various Accident Investigation programs used by the company
Read the user guides and research any online resources that can be utilised to further understand
Participate in as many investigation as possible to gain experience with the programs and systems used in accident investigation
Projects
Complete as many projects as possible to gain skills in the various areas that projects supply
Engage key stakeholders for projects of interest that will benefit the company and site
Learn more about statistics
Complete 2 rotations in the mining industry
1 year underground
Complete at least 500 hours underground or the equivalent to a 'White hat"
1 year open cut
Spend time in the different areas of the mine
SMART Goals
By the end of 2022 (or earlier) successfully complete my graduate program
Successfully obtain a full-time position as a HSE advisor
Apply for the sites Emergency Response Team (ERT) within a year of FT employment

Be a "Project Lead" on a project centred around a sustainable safety improvement design or system
Become the mentor of 1 or more HSE graduate/s and coach them successfully through their graduate program and initial years as a safety professional
Successfully enrol and be accepted into a graduate diploma qualification in any of the following fields: psychology, emergency management or leadership.

Engagement and understanding of contractor management
Experience in a range of projects to ensure the preparedness of being a project lead on a large scale project
Ensure any prerequisites are obtained to enrol in graduate diploma or equivalent
Development Activities
Gain permission to mentor new graduates
Engagement management team and other key stakeholders in mentorship program for graduates
Construct 2 year plan document template for oncoming graduates
Identify available future and current projects suitable for graduates to complete which will develop their skills
Enrol in graduate diploma or similar qualification
Research university's that offer the study areas of interest
Find the best fit for course delivery and content
Set SMART goals for prerequisites (if any) that are required for successful enrolment
