Age restrictions
Driving
Of course, before you drive, you have to take a learners licence / drivers licence. Once you've got your learners licence ( The first licence ), you can get your second
that doesn't change the fact that driving is dangerous, and especially when you are below 18. 5 million car crashes happen every year, some of them fatal. most of them are from people below the age of 18 and drunk drivers; some of them can be simply just getting distracted on the road.
licence - the drivers licence - which is driving independently, without someone being near. That means you're all ready to go and start driving - but is a drivers licence enough to stop crashes and accidents from happening? It is rather suggested that even after you get a driver licence you might
still need some supervision at times. Sometimes things happen that you don't expect and that's why you need a supervisor.
That's why, if you have an option, you may think about the dangers of driving for a start. If you don't care, go for it - but
Starting to drive is a big decision to make as you're getting older. Some people make the decision to start driving at 16, While others may start driving closer to 18 as it is safer. In some countries driving is essential thing as getting around to work or elsewhere may be difficult, so they get no choice.
Alchocol, Cigarettes e.t.c.
to be 18 or over. Lottery tickets are usually restricted from age 18 to 16 - but it really depends on the laws in the the area that you live in so there is no statement that can define all different countries laws.
Some of these things you can find at regular stores, and some of them are illegal; it also depends on the country you live in. For example, Things like drugs are always illegal but alchohol and cigarettes are just age restricted as you have
Now, speaking of less dangerous things like fireworks and party poppers - those are age restricted too. Party poppers are restricted at 16 due to accidents with them and fireworks are 18 and over of course because they can be more dangerous than they look.
Once you turn 18, you can legally get a tattoo, too. But don't make quick decisions because tattoos are said to hurt a lot. It's basically just burning your skin with ink andd it feels like burning hot lava on your skin. Tattoos were first invented
in 3100 BC but they had various ddifferent ways to do it rather then how we do it now. Maybe in the fututre people will make up a less painful way to do tattoos. When you turn 18 you can also ride a motorbike and other wacky things come up too.
Voting
For kids, the voting process needs people who understand what they are voting, and why they are choosing to vote on that something. Children didn't learned enough about the world yet to be able to vote wisely, so the voting age is 18.
For teenagers, some are mature enough but not all may make the best choices and understand the importancy of voting for the best party/prime minister. Some of them, though can make decisions better than some adults.
Voting age used to be 21 in 1974, but the government decided to change it because of people complaining about the fact that if they went to the Vietnam war and sacrificed their lives for the army, then they must be able to vote.
For adults, yes, they are mature enough and understand how life works. But, of course, different people mean different things and want/need different things in the country. Some people just want a change in their country.
So in conclusion, voting age may differ o who you are and your understanding of the world more than age does. There is always a risk to make it smaller because of immature people, so 18 is the main voting age for now.
Property
A mortgage is a legal debt instrument made between an individual or business and a bank or other creditor. The bank or creditor will lend money in exchange for interest to be paid back on the loan and the collateral of a title of the property.
When you turn 18, you are legal to buy/rent a house, flat, e.t.c and apply for a mortgage. Yay! you just got your own property, or rented someone else's. But what does a house mortgage mean?
Getting a mortgage is basically something that most people do when buying a house if they can't afford to pay the full price. As you know, the value of property is pretty high and can be way more than the average person's yearly salary.
You can choose the amount of years you would like to pay out the mortgage depending on how much you want to pay per month/week/fortnight. That resembles the time until the house is fully yours and you don't have to pay anymore.
