The laws!
You can't fly your drone at night unless it's a shielded operation.
because you are more likely to crash your drone at night.
Because air crafts can't see it as well at night.
your drone can't be more than 25kg.
because otherwise your drone will be too heavy
because it will cause a lot of damage when it crashes if it's too heavy
You can't fly near an airport
Because you could hit a plane or another aircraft
you must be able to see your drone at all times
because if it crashes, you wont know where it is
you can't fly your drone in national parks
because it might upset the wildlife e.g. crash into a bird.
because people won't want their day in a national park spied on by a drone.
what will the future rules be?
pizza drones
you must fly it straight to the house
you must obey the same rules as the transport drones
you can't carry more than three pizzas at a time on one drone
If someone orders more than three pizzas, you must deploy multiple drones
transport drones
you must stick to the air-roads
fly your drone on the left side of the air-road
use your drones indicator when turning
you must have a parachute when you are flying
you can't fly straight up of straight down
if you crash you must jump out of the drone and inflate your parachute
where will the roads be?
500m off the ground
not near large bodies of bush/ trees
not over the ocean
through urban areas
winding through the buildings
The punishment!
The punishment is local.
Because the prime minister has bigger problems to deal with.
Because most of the time the police can deal with it.
You can go to jail.
If you disobey these laws you can expect a big fine or up to six months in prison.
Shielded operations!
You fly your drone below the tallest structure in your area it is a shielded operation.
The tallest structure at CPS is Tōtara ridge.
This means you can fly your drone at night.
