by separating her intersections, she was isolating herself. All of her identities, being Brown, female, and etc, work together to form her identity. Also by separating her identities, she would only be recognizing one of her oppressions, for example how she is oppressed because of her Brownness
Assimilation- the author was taught to negate her language, religion, dress, and even social interactions
Self Oppression and Victimazation-“We welcomed this Black comedy routine. We made its scenes our rituals. We claimed the right of self -defacement. We remained degraded inside ourselves and we continued to empower others to control us”
By identifying the white women as her enemy she was accepting a devalued, oppressed, and an unliberated woman state
