Mom: Family
PROMISE TO ME
For most of my life, my mom has been there for me no matter what. What she promises me every day of my life is to be the most caring and loving mother. She also dedicates her time and effort to make sure I live a better life than she ever had.
PROMISE IN ACTION
My mom works 12-hour shifts at the hospital every other day. She puts a lot effort to work long shifts in order to make enough money to send me to private school. Every single day she sacrifices her time to provide for me as well as be there for me too.

PROMISE TO ME
Even if my dad seems strict, I know that he loves me a lot. Like my mom, he continues to work hard for me so that I can go to the school I go to.
PROMISE IN ACTION
Every single day he to make sure I live a better life he had as a kid. Growing up, he did not have access to the resources that can be found in United State. He works long shifts to make sure I have all the materials I need to survive. Even if he may not be very affectionate, I know that he loves me so much.

William: Best Friend
PROMISE TO ME
William and I did not start off at a great start, but later on, we were able to become good friends up until now. His promise to me is to make me smile whenever I feel down. According to him, it's better to smile than it is to frown.
PROMISE IN ACTION
Every single day he dedicates his time and effort to support me each step of the way. Whenever I am sad or angry, he knows how to cheer me up. By making silly jokes, or sending me funny videos, he always makes me smile every time.

Ana: Friend
PROMISE IN ACTION
Whenever I just need someone to talk to about what's going on at school, Ana is always there to help. If I am struggling to speak up for myself, she is there to tell me what I should do in a certain situation. She has been there through my hardest times where people started to take advantage of my kindness. If it wasn't for her, I would not be where I am today.

PROMISE TO ME
I met Ana during the first week of freshman year. She's a super sweet friend that knows how to treat others with respect. Her promise to me is to continue to be the best friend she could be. She is very dependable, reliable, and overall a friend you need in your life.
Sophia: Friend
PROMISE TO ME
As most of my other friends, I met Sophia during freshman year. Her promise she made to be is to accompany me whenever I am lonely. Some of the people who I met were not loyal friends, but Sophia is someone who can be by your side no matter what.
PROMISE IN ACTION
When school still happened in person, I remember every other day, she would join me for lunch. Instead of sitting with someone else, she continued to sit with me and also not abandon me for other people.

Janelle: Friend

PROMISE IN ACTION
Every day and even when we are not at school, she is there for me. She sacrifices her time to help with whatever I need. If it's homework or any life problem, she gives me great advice and cheers me on.
PROMISE TO ME
Janelle and I met in the first week of school during freshmen year. Ever since we became friends, her promise to me to be a trustworthy and honest friends that I can depend on.

Apu Daddy (Grandfather)
PROMISE TO ME
My grandfather's promise to me is to continue to watch over me even if I am already a teenager. As a child he never liked to show affection like my father, but he showed that he was protective over me.
PROMISE IN ACTION
Growing up, my parents were not really around to watch over me. Since I lived next to my grand parents house, my grandpa along with my grandma came over to babysit us. I remember vividly we would always watch TV together and bond. Every night when my parents were out, he would almost do whatever to protect us so that we don't feel scared.
